NA3HL announces monthly player awards for December

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) has announced its monthly player awards for the month of December. The Bauer Hockey NA3HL Forward of the Month is Sascha Figi of the Atlanta Capitals. The Bauer Hockey NA3HL Defenseman of the Month is Gavin Cummings of the Pittsburgh Vengeance. The Vaughn NA3HL Goaltender of the Month is Mac Berglove from the Granite City Lumberjacks. Only players who are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the NA3HL monthly awards.

Bauer Hockey NA3HL Forward of the Month: Sascha Figi, Atlanta Capitals
With four game-winning goals in December, Atlantaโ€™s Sascha Figi helped the capitals to seven wins this month. The Uster, Switzerland native registered nine goals and four assists for 13 total points through a shortened month. Figi also grabbed four power-play goals, and one short-handed goal while remaining +10 through December. โ€œSascha has been our best forward all season. He is consistently scoring big goals for us,โ€ said Head Coach Jason Smith.

Bauer Hockey NA3HL Defenseman of the Month: Gavin Cummings, Pittsburgh Vengeance
Leading NA3HL defensemen this December was Pittsburghโ€™s Gavin Cummings. Hailing from Williamsville, NY, the Vengeance defenseman racked up eleven points in seven games played, contributing a short-handed goal, power-play goal, and nine assists through the month. โ€œWith 11 points in the month of December from the back end, Cummings is the type of player we need him to be for us,โ€ said General Manager and Head Coach David Dorsey.

Vaughn Hockey Goaltender of the Month: Mac Berglove, Granite City Lumberjacks
Collecting five wins in December with a .943 SV% was Granite Cityโ€™s Mac Berglove. The Elk River, MN native faced an average of over 29 shots per game, making 165 saves on 175 shots against. โ€œMac continues to lead us in the net. He makes the saves he needs to and also steals a few to keep us in games. So far he would be our 1st half MVP,โ€ said Head Coach Bradley Willner.
